Topeka, Kansas : Peggy Y. Haberkorn. 324 pages : Maps ; 27.30 cm x 21.27 cm. This book is dedicated to my beloved husband, Robert and to our children, our grandchildren, and to all the future Haberkorns. Knowing that our children have not, as yet, grown to appreciate their heritage and the terrible hardships of previous generations, so that their own generation and future generations might be free to worship in their catholic faith, work at whatever job they might choose, and to follow the customs and to speak a language of their unsere lait, it is with love, joy and dedication that I complete this book, so that our children too might learn something about their forefathers, be proud of, and appreciate, their roman catholic German-Russian Ancestry. Some of my last chapters will be our trips to Germany in 1993 through 2014 and Russia in 1993, 1994, 1996, and 1999. My husband Robert and I visited the villages of Semjenowka (or Seminovka) where Ignatius Haberkorn was born, Goebel where Robert's grandfather Johann George Haberkorn was born. Other cities we visited were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov and Kronstadt Naval Fort where our Haberkorn family entered on their way to Russia. There was only one Haberkorn family to enter Russia. Coming from Maintz, Germany. They left Lubeck, Germany on July 4, 1766 on the ship "Lof and Unate". Villages we visited were Grimm, Francozen, Kamenka, Pfeifer, Merkel, Katherinanstadt (now Marx), Engels, and Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad), and Semjenowka. Our Youngest son, Father Tim Haberkorn accompanied us on our 1999 trip to Russia. After some thirty years of labor on this project it is my fondest hope, that at least one of our children might continue this story, after our death.... And keep it up to date, passing it on to future Haberkorns. 20240406. Haberkorns. GRIMM (RUSSIA) -- GENEALOGY. KAMENKA (RUSSIA) -- GENEALOGY. Francozen, Russia. PFEIFER (RUSSIA) -- GENEALOGY.
